The scenography for la bibliothèque des possibles marks the fifth anniversary of the project Kokoba, Meeting Our Griots and proposes a space for quiet reflection and collective presence. Conceived as a “Five Elements Library,” the reading room translates the symbolic system of Dagara cosmology — earth, water, fire, air, and spirit — into spatial experience.
At the center of the space, a circular table in reference to the Dagara wheel anchors the installation. Its surface, carved to hold each curated book, forms a tactile archive of curated works. Around it, visitors sit on the floor, on cushions and poufs, entering a shared geometry of reading, listening, and exchange. A lamp and a chair in the corner of the 20 m² space evoke the intimacy of a living room, suggesting domestic comfort and the quiet familiarity of home.
The scenography embodies a space of transmission — where ancestral echoes meet contemporary voices, and where books, materials, and workshops coexist.
