R U I N S

These different photographic series represent questions related to the sense of time. Ruins make us think of the past that could have been and the future that never took place. They are a reminder of a period, a maze of temporal situations such as no longer - only if - back then.

The structures we leave behind will inevitably start to corrode and decay and nature will seize its opportunity to reclaim space. Nature always makes surprising progress in recolonizing territory. By introducing manmade structures in my photography, reality becomes sublime. Images are capable of showing the power of nature, the insignificance of being. Ruins are evidence of human intervention and raise the question: does everything come to an end?
